Pope Francis is not helping by issuing opinions which are not shared by many Christians around the world. His refusal to direct attention to the slaughter of Christians by Muslim extremists is just one problem. The Pope's attempts to cozy up to the Palestinians by recognizing the legitimacy of a country which has no legitimacy in history is a another huge mistake. This is an extension of the Vatican's long term anti-Israel policies which do not help Christians or Jews.
The Pope, just like President Obama, does not understand the facts on the ground in the Middle East. Their assumption is that promoting anti-Israel positions; they will cause the majority of Muslims to love Americans and Christians as never before. This attitude is the epitome of the "politics of weakness". It just plays into the hands of Islamic extremists who will continue to intensify their war against America and Israel as well as against Christians and Jews.
Jews around the world are equally divided on the issues of how and why we deal with the growing threat of Muslim extremism. The ultra-left around the world is very strong in shaping opinion in the worldwide Jewish community. These people are flat out insane in their anti-Israel and pro-Muslim opinions. It is most amazing to me that so many of the ultra-left are Jews who would do almost anything to diminish the strength of Israel in the Middle East. Talk about "cutting off your nose to spite your face". These are the same kind of Jews in Germany before WW-ll who taught that playing nice with Hitler and the Nazis would help Germany's Jews deal with their new government.
This kind of thinking is the ultimate in insanity and unfortunately the Pope and Obama are doing both Chistians and Jews no favors by advancing insane policies to deal with the war on Muslim extremism.
